This book is about four children, Dicey, James, Sammy and Maybeth, Whose mother abandoned them in a random mall parking lot. When they figured out that their mother wasn't coming back, the oldest Dicey decided that they would walk to their Aunt Cilla's House. So with $7.00 and a paper bag with clothing in it, they set of on an adventure that would change their lives forever. Unfortunately and fortunately for these children their story doesn't end at finding their aunt's house and living ever after. They will face a few more trials before they find their new home and live HAPPILY ever after.
There are three great lessons in this book.
1.stick together. NO MATTER WHAT!
2. use what you have, and don't worry about saving it for later if you need it now.
3.you should count on your family, and your family should be able to count on you.
